Belgium, Ghent (Gent), Sint Pietersnieuwstraat, 'Vooruit' Art Centre & Cafe is a historic complex which was originally the festival and art center of the Gent-based labor movement, with a ballroom, cinema, theater, etc. It is now mainly used for concerts and other cultural events. Build in 1911-1914. The building is named after the socialist consumer organisation Vooruit (Forward) to protect workers against the instability of capitalism. There workers could eat, drink and enjoy culture at affordable costs.
